Tanya is a 200-hr yoga teacher who also happens to be a licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist! She has had her own practice for 14 years, is an Expert Consultant to the licensing board in Sacramento, and is an Expert Witness having participated in civil cases. Yoga is a very important tool she’s always used in her treatment sessions so it was just natural that as she progressed in her own individual practice, she would acquire formal certification in it.

As a lifelong equestrian, Tanya suffered a minor brain injury in a jumping accident almost 10 years ago and she credits yoga with helping her achieve mental and physical balance again. She is thankful to her following teachers for providing inspiration: Itay Dollinger, Suzy Gill, David Swenson, Leeza Villagomez and Guru K. Darshan. When she is not practicing yoga, she is living “yoga” by passionately serving developmentally disabled children and rescue or handicapped pets. She devotes the largest portion of her professional and personal time to their causes and believes it’s important to “be a voice for those who cannot speak.” Blessed to be a worldwide traveler, Tanya considers the beautiful island of Maui her “other home” and seeks to respite there several times a year. When she is not reading for research, this professed “shoe addict” spends a good amount of time scouring fashion magazines or hanging out in her renovated “dream closet”-proclaiming she has nothing to wear! Also known as “T” to her friends and family, she’ll soon add another moniker –“Doctor” as she transitions her advanced degree to a D.P.T.

Tanya believes in the great atmosphere and offerings at TCHY! She is here to support & encourage YOUR practice at TCHY and answer any yoga or fitness related questions as well as feedback & suggestions.  You can reach her directly at tchotyoga@gmail.com
